The rebranding of the Agensi Pembangunan Masyarakat Terengganu (APMT) to the Agensi Transformasi Rakyat Terengganu (ATRA) is aimed at helping the state government to disseminate more accurate information effectively to the people, said Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman.
He said this was in anticipation of bigger challenges facing the agency in ensuring victory for Barisan Nasional (BN), especially Umno, in the state in the coming 14th general election.
“With 901 staff statewide, I am confident Atra will be able to do its job through various programmes to be held, with priority for the grassroot society,” he told reporters after officiating the rebranding of APMT to ATRA here today.
ATRA is an agency under the supervision of the Menteri Besar’s Office and its aim is to transform the people’s mindset towards making them a quality society by 2020.
Ahmad Razif said Atra’s performance would be evaluated every three months.
“They are also required to submit a report on the status of every state constituency in Terengganu, whether it is a sure-win seat for BN or not,” he added.
